“My badminton  career began at the age of 10 years old. At that time, I had not even heard of badminton, my eyes were purely focused on becoming a tennis player. The reason I even picked up a badminton racket was due to my school teacher being the Surrey Badminton coach at the time. I started by going to the school club, this quickly turned into county training and before long, England training. I was quite lucky that I picked it up fairly quickly as my basic hand eye co-ordination from playing tennis was quite good and within two years of picking up a racket, I went on my first International tournament to represent England. 21 years after first picking up a racket, I was crowned Olympic Bronze Medallist, the dream became reality.”
